Michael J. Apicella, Esq.

Since a young age, Mr. Apicella always had a passion for law and justice.  As such, he gave up a successful business career in his mid thirties to obtain a law degree.  Mr. Apicella graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco in 2001.  While in law school, he received multiple awards and honors, as well as special training in trial work, earning certificates in Litigation and Mediation.

His legal practice began in business litigation where he had certain aptitudes and strengths due to his business background.  However, he also had strong people skills and a desire to help others with various personal issues.  This attracted him to family law. 

His practice now focuses primarily on family matters, such as divorce, custody, visitation, child and spousal support, etc.  He also drafts contracts in family law matters (such as prenuptial or cohabitation agreements), and a variety of business transactions.  Mr. Apicella mediates divorces as well.  He has helped many couples resolve the most acrimonious disputes without them ever having to step inside a courtroom.

Prior to Law School, Mr. Apicella graduated from University of Southern California with a degree in business.  Before becoming a lawyer, he gained nearly two decades of experience in real estate, insurance, finance, and banking.  Mr. Apicella is a former California licensed insurance broker, and currently holds a California real estate license. 

This depth of experience provides a deeper knowledge and insight when handling clients' divorce issues; for instance, establishing accurate income for support purposes, valuing and dividing a family business, tracing community and separate property funds, and allocating debts, to name a few.  Having a broad understanding of financial issues has proven very useful for his clients.  Additionally, having solid people skills and truly caring about his clients helps him fully understand the personal issues that they go through during their divorce.  He approaches each case with a fierce dedication to accomplish his client's goals in an efficient and skillful manner.
